Meet the Team

Carla Goldstein, Director

Carla is a Montessori-certified teacher with over 16 years of experience in children’s education. She combines her extensive experience with qualifications in mindfulness practices to create a joyful classroom environment, support teachers, and mentor parents in every school. Carla created highly successful programs beloved by parents and students alike, including “mommy and me,” yoga for babies, and language immersion through movement and music. Carla received her bachelor’s degree in design from the University of Buenos Aires, which greatly contributes to the cohesion and thoughtfulness found in her teaching spaces and lessons.

Reut Rozenberg, Consultant

Reut is an accomplished educator. With extensive experience in Waldorf education, she successfully led Urim Waldorf School in Israel, managing 480 students while fostering an inclusive community during COVID-19. Reut is committed to holistic education and was instrumental in founding the school’s high school program. Her background in engineering includes roles at Broadcom and Intel. Reut holds an MBA from the University of Tel Aviv, an MSc from the Technion, a teaching diploma in Mathematics from the University of Tel Aviv, and a Waldorf Education Diploma. Reut also has a background in real estate.

Kendall Markham Shechter – Lead Teacher

Kendall is a passionate advocate for early childhood education, the arts, and holistic living, with a deep love for nature and animals. She is the proud mother of two young children – a four-year-old daughter and an almost two-year-old son.

Outside of her time at the Gan, Kendall enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family, engaging in arts and crafts with her children, running on local trails for fresh air and exercise, and baking in her kitchen.

Liz Sander – Assistant Teacher

Originally from New York, she lives with her husband, Mark, her son, Jeremy, and their dog, Cheyenne. She has worked in early childhood education since 2003. Her love of teaching and passion for watching children learn, grow, develop, and thrive have brought her immense joy throughout her career.

When she is not at work, she can often be found swimming, exercising at the gym, walking outside with friends or her dog, gardening, or cheering for New York sports teams.

Dalia Azarnikov – Assistant Teacher

Dalia is a dedicated early childhood educator who believes that every child is a capable learner. She is committed to creating a preschool environment that is safe, supportive, and inspiring – where children can explore their interests, develop social and emotional skills, and learn at their own pace.

With extensive experience in diverse preschool programs, Dalia integrates play and arts-and-crafts-based activities as core learning tools. Her approach offers children a rich variety of materials and experiences, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of all learners.

Over the past decade, Dalia has held teaching positions at institutions including the Bender JCC of Greater Washington, Beth Sholom ECC, Congregation Albert’s ECC in Albuquerque, NM, and the Sir Manasseh Meyer International School in Singapore. She also served as a senior instructor at a WIZO shelter in Haifa, Israel, supporting children from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Dalia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Haifa University in Israel. She is fluent in English, Hebrew, and Russian.

Eden Ergaz – Assistant Teacher

Born in Israel, Eden moved to the United States at the age of 11 and grew up in the Montgomery County area. She served in the Israel Defense Forces as an Educational Non-Commissioned Officer and is currently studying Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Eden is a mother of two and brings a wide range of experience working with children, from babysitting and after-care programs to preschool teaching. She loves learning alongside the children and exploring new ideas with them, and believes every child deserves a warm, nurturing, and meaningful educational experience. Eden is passionate about creating a caring classroom environment rooted in Jewish values and helping children grow into the future.
